Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions people ask before they upload their first sticker. If your question isn't covered, use the contact form - we reply from a real inbox.

What does CutPath Pro actually do?

You upload a PNG or JPG of your sticker artwork and it traces a clean vector cut line around it. The result exports as SVG, DXF, EPS or PDF that any print-and-cut plotter or vinyl cutter can read. Background removal, offset, corner smoothing and per-machine registration marks are all handled automatically. No pen tool, no manual tracing.

Which cutting machines does it support?

What file formats does it export?

SVG for most cutters, DXF for older plotters and CNC, EPS for RIP software and Roland VersaWorks, print-then-cut PDF with artwork and marks on the page, and a cut-only PDF with a true CutContour spot separation.

How does the credit system work?

One credit unlocks a job for export. Every re-download in any supported format is then free - the credit unlocks the design, not each individual file. Every new account gets one free credit to try the workflow end-to-end. Full details on pricing.

Do credits expire?

Pay-as-you-go packs stay valid for 12 months from purchase. Subscription credits roll over for up to 3 months of unused balance. Free-trial credits stay valid until used.

Can I cancel a subscription?

Yes, cancel any time from your account page. You keep the credits you have already been granted and can keep using them until they expire; your card is not charged again.

Does it remove backgrounds automatically?

Yes. Upload a JPG or PNG with a full background and CutPath Pro removes it before tracing so the cut path follows the subject, not the box. Transparent PNGs are used as-is with no matte processing. Full guide.

Can I control offset and corner style?

Yes. Offset distance is a slider in millimetres from 0 mm (right on the edge) up to 5 mm (wide sticker halo). Corner behaviour switches between round, mitre and bevel. Change either and the preview updates instantly, before you spend a credit.

Does it add registration marks?

Yes - pick your machine from the registration-marks dropdown and the marks are placed for that vendor's sensor. Silhouette gets L-brackets plus filled squares, Roland gets filled ~10 mm dots, Graphtec and Mimaki get single-line L corners, Summa gets small filled squares. Placement, size and quiet zone are set per vendor to hit the sensor's tolerances.

Do you keep my files?

Yes. Every exported job is saved to your account so you can re-download any format later at no extra credit cost. Manage them from the My Files page inside your account.

Is there a mobile version?

Yes. The editor at /Tool auto-redirects narrow viewports to a full-screen mobile editor with the same trace engine, offset controls, corner styles and registration-mark picker.

Do I need Illustrator or CorelDRAW?

No. The whole workflow runs in the browser. If you already have Illustrator or CorelDRAW you can open the exported SVG or PDF to double-check, but you don't need them to produce a cuttable file.

Kiss cut or die cut?

Both. The cut line is the same file; whether the machine cuts through the backing (die cut) or stops just short of it (kiss cut) is a blade-depth setting in your cutter software, not a change to the exported file. Full guide.

What does it cost?

First cut file is free, no card required. Pay-as-you-go packs start at £3 for 5 credits; monthly plans start at £7 for 25 credits and get cheaper per cut on the larger plans. See pricing.
